🔌Photo product search — identify the part you need
Send this link to any boat owner. When they open it and sign in, their boat joins your control centre automatically — you don’t need to add it first.
Tip: for a specific boat you’ve already added, open that boat for its own one-time invite link instead.

Battery
Add a reading
Resting voltage — turn off the charger, engine and all loads. For a true figure, leave it 2+ hours after charging or heavy use. Set a multimeter to DC volts, red probe to +, black to −, and read the steady number.
Charging voltage — measure at the battery terminals with the charger on or engine running. It shows what the charger is actually delivering.
Under load — measure while a known load runs (fridge, a few cabin lights). A big drop hints at a tired battery.
Temperature — easiest with a cheap infrared thermometer pointed at the battery case. Warm on charge is normal; hot is not.
Stay safe — never let a spanner or tool bridge the terminals, and wear eye protection near flooded batteries (they can vent gas and acid).

Note: Uses P = V × I (with power factor for AC: P = V × I × pf). For DC and resistive loads leave power factor off. A guide for sizing and estimation — always confirm critical figures.
Plugs & Colours
Connector pinouts & wiring colour reference
Reference guide. Standard pinouts shown. Marine data connectors (NMEA, Deutsch) and some plugs vary by brand and region — variants are flagged where they apply. Always confirm against the equipment's own documentation before wiring, especially for data connectors where a wrong pin can damage a device.
Testing Procedures
How to carry out each test, step by step
Guidance only. These procedures summarise standard testing methods to support competent marine electrical work. They are not a substitute for proper training, the relevant standards (BS 7671, ISO/ABYC), or the test-equipment manufacturer's instructions. Always work safely, isolate where required, and use calibrated instruments. The engineer carrying out the test remains responsible for doing so correctly and safely.

AI Wiring Diagram Review
Photograph a drawing and get an AI review — feedback, errors, improvements
1Take clear, well-lit photos of the drawing. Use several shots for different parts of the same diagram — but keep it to one diagram at a time.
2Add a note about what it is, if you like (optional).
3Tap Review drawing and read the AI's feedback.
A review aid, not a certified check. The AI reads photographed drawings as best it can, but can misread unclear images or miss detail. Treat its feedback as a helpful second opinion — not confirmation a design is correct or safe to build. The engineer remains responsible for verifying the drawing against the relevant standards and the actual installation.
